Global hunger and food insecurity showed modest improvement in 2024, with an estimated 8.2 per cent of the population undernourished, down from 8.5 in 2023. Food insecurity continues to impact nearly 2.3 billion people around the world. While South America and parts of Asia have seen declines, hunger is rising in sub-Saharan Africa, where more than one in five people are undernourished.
Malnutrition remains widespread, with 150 million children under five experiencing stunted growth and nearly one in three women of reproductive age living with anaemia. Limited dietary diversity compounds these challenges, particularly in low-income regions.
Achieving zero hunger requires urgent efforts to strengthen food systems, lower food price volatility, and ensure access to nutritious diets.

The Lady B Bless Humanitarian Foundation: Transforming Lives Globally
The Lady B Bless Humanitarian Foundation was honored to sponsor a medical outreach program in April 2024. The program was executed in collaboration with the Dakani Development Foundation, a community development organization dedicated to providing sustainable relief, healthcare, and mental well-being to riverine communities along the River Niger.
The medical outreach, held on April 20-21, 2024, in Dakani and Sunlati Communities, Mokwa Local Government Area, Niger State, Nigeria, provided free screenings for malaria, hepatitis A, B, and C, distribute sanitary pads to young ladies and medications for prevalent health conditions, as well as conducted health awareness and orientation sessions
